Making Incenses
1. If not purchased pre-powdered, grind each herb into a fine powder using either mortar and pestle or an electric grinder.

This is a yummy that's been in my family for years. It's great for easing a headache or a calming, restorative drink (diluted with some sparkling mineral water). Sip some on a nice hot day!

1/2 cup sugar
50 lavender flowers
Water

Make sure the lavender has not been sprayed with insecticides. Rinse gently under cold water (to shoo away any bugs) before use. Or you could just buy some culinary lavender:)

Put 1 cup water and the sugar into a pan - heat gently until the sugar has dissolved completely. Add the lavender flowers and bring to a boil.

Remove from heat; cover the pan and leave to infuse for 30 to 45 minutes. Strain the liquid into a pan and reheat, stirring all the time, until the mixture is syrupy.

Cool completely. Pour into sterilized bottles, seal tightly, and cool. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 months. Drink within 2 - 3 days of opening.

Fill a BLUE or WHITE SACHET with LOOSE DOG HAIR and HAIR from one or both PARENTS.

Place a few strands of the CHILD'S HAIR into the SACHET, along with a few pinches of CINNAMON.

Give the SACHET to the child to wear or carry for protection.

Repeat every 3 months, using the same SACHET and burying the old HERBS/HAIR.

Horehound Strength

Studying? Engaged in an activity that strains your brain? Try this infusion as a brain pick-me-up.

Autumn Magic

On the Autumn Equinox or or Mabon (today - Sept 22nd) it is a great time to put together a magical good luck altar as you show your respect for the harvest, the dead and the Triple Goddess shifting into the crone.

Gather leaves that are common to your locale. Also - pick up sticks (no taking branches off of trees) and a few stones. The amount of leaves/sticks does not matter.

You will also need: 3 apples, 3 orange candles, a ear of corn, non-metal bowl, 3 candlesticks, 1 spell charcoal, Herbs: Sandalwood, Oakmoss, Juniper, Patchouli.

Mix together equal parts of the: Sandalwood, Oakmoss, Juniper, Patchouli - put aside.

Arrange on an altar, table or shelf an arrangement of the stones, branches, apples and leaves that feel right to you -- this is an intuitional placement.

Next - place the candles: one in the middle - and one on each end of the arrangement. Careful to make sure they are far enough away from anything flammable.

Light the charcoal - put it in the non-metal bowl. Sprinkle the mixture of Sandalwood, Oakmoss, Juniper, Patchouli over the lit coals.

Light the candles.

In your own words - give thanks for the upcoming harvest - for autumn - and anything else you are truly grateful for. Afterwards - state your wishes. Be short & specific.

End by again - saying thank you.

Let the candles burn down. Before winter hits - bury everything that was on your altar. If that's not possible - return everything to nature, except for the wax, which you will have to throw away.

Opening Up Your Third Eye

Do you want to be more psychic? Maybe figure out your dreams? Find your soul mates? Then open up your third eye and let it do its job.

In a NON METAL BOWL mix together: 1/8 tsp of MUGWORT, 9 drops each of: CINNAMON, SANDALWOOD and ORANGE essential oils.

Apply the MIXTURE to the middle of your forehead, on your skull above the uppermost portion of your ear lobes and finally at the base of your skull - where the skull & the back of the neck meet.

Reapply as needed. Store leftovers in a cool, dark place.

Breaking An Obsession

Do you have an obsession that you need to break? A bad habit, a connection to a person, place or substance? If so -- give this spell a try!

Supplies: Chili Pepper, Paper, Pen, Your Saliva

Instructions:

Take the PEN and write down on the PAPER the obsession you wish to rid yourself of.

Put some of YOUR SALIVA onto the PAPER.

Sprinkle a pinch of CHILI PEPPER over the PAPER as you imagine how your life will be after the obsession has left you.

Fold the PAPER until you cannot fold it any longer.

Bury the PAPER either outside or in a potted plant.

Cemetery Summonings

Do you wish to talk to the dead? Take a trip to the cemetery.

Before you leave your house:

1) Burn Frankincense or Bay Leaves to clear out any neg vibes and strengthen your energy defenses.

2) Make sure that you have a protective stone on you. Such as a Turquoise, Onyx or Black Tourmaline.

3) Call in your Guardian Angels and Spirits Guides to be with you.

When you get to the cemetery, walk around it three times, keeping your wits about you and focused in on your desire for communications. As you walk, the dead will communicate.

After you are finished and get home - burn Frankincense or Bay Leaves to clear out any neg vibes & spirit attachments.

Thank your Guardian Angels and Spirits Guides for their aid.

Ask An Angel

Do you have a question or a situation that you would like the angels to help you with? Follow this dandy spell.

1. On a BAY LEAF write your situation or question as specifically as possible.
2. Place the BAY LEAF (or leaves if the leaf was small) under your pillow.
3. As you fall asleep repeat the following until you are out:

I call upon the angels that surround me
Here me
See (state the situation/question)
Tell me what I need to know.

4. Write down your dreams as soon as you wake up.

Psychic Vampire Defenses

Do you find yourself drained of energy after talking to a particular person or by visiting a certain place? If so, your psychic energy has been drained. Take these steps to stop leaking your energy.

Protective Energy Shields: Carry black tourmaline and/or labradorite to provide an shield of protective energy. Make sure you carry them in your pocket (as opposed to a sachet) so that they are readily available to hold in your receptive hand (the hand you DO NOT write with) when you are starting to feel drained.

Emergency Relief: Drink rosemary tea or add large quantities of the loose herb to your bath to energy body repair and exhaustion.

Dream Break!

Do you need a good night's sleep? Then take a break from dreaming for a night. One note of caution though: use this sparingly as you need to dream in order to sustain good mental health.

Burn a few sprigs of Lemon Verbena before you go to bed. If you do not want to burn the herb, you can wear it around your neck, place inside your pillow or on a night stand.

Astral Ointment

Cut a Nutmeg into exactly 4 pieces.

- Bury one part in the Earth or in a potted plant.
- Throw one off or your roof - out a window - off a hill into the air.
- Burn the third part in a non metal container, in the fireplace or bonefire.
- Boil the fourth part in water. Let the water cool and strain the nutmeg.

Place a few tablespoons of Mugwort & a small Crystal in a Tea Ball & put the Tea Ball into your Mug/Cup.

Supplies: 1 Black Candle, Salt, Olive Oil, 1 fire proof bowl (non metal)

Instructions:

-Carve your name into the Black Candle.

-Anoint the Black Candle with the Olive Oil. Starting in the middle of the candle and rubbing upwards 9 times. Then start at the middle of the candle and apply downwards 9 times.

-Place the Black Candle in the middle of the Bowl. Pour enough Salt around the candle and into the bowl that the candle stands on it's own.

-As you light the Black Candle recite: Powers the be, hear my plea. Reverse (insert situation) immediately while causing harm to none. Thank you.

-Let the Black Candle burn down -bury the wax/salt into the ground or in a flower pot.

Rain Maker

Build a contained fire outside. Once the fire is in full-swing, throw in a *handful of Fern and a handful of Heather.

Instructions: On the paper - write down the job you are looking for; job description, benefits, salary. Place the paper in the red sachet. Add a 3 pinches each of the patchouly, basil and cinnamon.

Carry with you as you job search. Discard herbs after you land the job or 3 months is up - whatever comes first. You can reuse the sachet and the lodestone.

Double Your Money!

Have some cash that you want to double? Try a little bit mandrake!

Place a mandrake root in the light of of a full moon. Around the mandrake root, place the money you wish you double. Leave it there overnight.

The next morning bury the root and spend the money. Within 30 days (until the next full moon) you should see your initial money doubled.

This works better with silver coins than with dollar bills. But it still works.

Coffee Nightmare Banish

Nightmares have your down? Try some coffee to spook the nightmares away!

You can use the coffee one of two ways:

1. Place a small coffee maker (the kind that brews 4 cups or less) next to your bed. Prepare it to make coffee and flip it on to do just that right before you go to sleep.

Or

2. Place a cup of freshly brewed coffee next to your bed before you drift off to sleep.

The aroma of coffee has been known to keep some people awake - so make sure you try this when you do not have to be awake at a specific time the next day.

Looking for your dream job? Try this sachet!

1. Write out an ad for your dream job. Put the qualifications, salary and any perks.

2. Place the ad in a red sachet or in a red cloth w/red thread to tie it shut.

3. Sprinkle a pinches of orris root, patchouly & oak moss into the sachet.

4. Carry the sachet with you until you land your job.

Repeat/replace every 3 months.

Amber Protective Circle

Do you feel like you are subject to some heavy negativity? Give this flash spell try!

Supplies: handful of amber stones or beads, one white candle

Instructions:

-Light the white candle and place it on the floor.

-Place the amber stones/beads in a wide circle around the candle (wide enough so that you can sit inside of the circle without getting burned by the candle).

-Sit inside of the circle, close your eyes and imagine a protective wall rising up from the amber to surround you.

- Now imagine a healing white light coming from the candle flame to engulf you and the inside of the protective circle.

- Stay in this circle until you feel that your energy is restored.

Instructions

1.Add each herb into your bowl.
2.Visualize your need or goal.
3.Once it has been clearly formed in your mind, using your projective hand (right if right-handed) mix the herbs as the images from your mind transfer down your arm, through your hand and empower the herbs.
4.Take your stone/crystal and place it in your projective hand.
5.Visualize your need or goal.
6.Once it has been clearly formed in your mind, pour your need into the stone/crystal.

Using Sachets

To activate: Hold the sachet in your hand, squeezing gently to release its fragrance. Carry it with you at all times or place in the appropriate spot.

Three months to the date it was made, bury the herbs and continue to use your sachet to hold your crystal/stone.

Coconut Protection

Need to add some extra protection to your household? Give this nut a chance.

- Take a coconut, cut in half and drain of its juice.
- Fill the coconut with a combination of: juniper, bay leaves, garlic, salt.
- Seal the coconut (helps to put some rubber bands around it).

Psychic Dream Powder

An effective way to induce psychic dreams.

1. Grind into a fine powder equal parts of: Basil, Vetiver Root, Mugwort, Orris Root

2. Blend the herbs together with your fingers

3. Sprinkle the powder around your bed before you go to sleep

If you have pets - keep them out of the room until you have cleaned the powder up the next day. If they lick up the powder they could get seriously ill.

Infusion of Healing Power

2. Light charcoal (from the side is the best way to get it to burn)
3. Place the charcoal in the fire-proof container
4. Sprinkle coffee/salt mixture on the charcoal
5. Allow the smoke to drift into the rooms that need cleaned

• Place candles in their candleholders.

Activation

• Light CHARCOAL BLOCK, place in ONE FIREPROOF BOWL and burn INCENSE.

• Meditate on the desired outcome –clear your mind and focus on what you want to accomplish.

Take the WHITE candle and put it in the middle of your workspace.

As you light it, recite:

Here is (your name),
This candle is me.
I am in search of,
True love and life-long mate.
As the fire burns, so burns my spirit.

Take the PINK candle, placing it next to the WHITE candle. As you light it, recite:

The respect and friendship,
I search for
Draws close with this flame.
It burns as does the fire draw,
him/her to me and from me to him/her.

From this moment forward
The love I search for reaches out to me
It holds me,
Caresses me,
Wills me to find it, as I will it to find me.

Finally, take the ORANGE candle and place it next to the WHITE candle. As you light it, recite:

My love feels the pull to find me,
As a nighttime creature flocks to a flame such as this,
The attraction is so great it cannot be resisted,
It draws, it pulls, it attracts,
As it burns, so burns my loves determination to find me.

Meditate on the goal of your love coming to you first as friends, then moving forward with him/her into a loving, committed relationship.

Once that goal has been visualized, the energy work has begun.

Let the candles burn down or for at least nine minutes. If you must extinguish the flame, do so with a snuffer as blowing will scatter the energy. Bury the wax.

Create this sachet when the moon is new, waxing or full.

Supplies Needed

4 Tbsp. Chicory
3 Tbsp. Thyme
2 Tbsp. Marjoram
2 Tbsp. Ditty of Crete
1 Piece of Paper with What Needs Changed.
1 Clear Quartz Crystal or Obsidian
1 Non-metal bowl
1 Red or Yellow Pouch or Cloth
1 Thread/Ribbon if Cloth used

Instructions

1.Add each herb into your bowl.
2.Visualize your need or goal.
3.Once it has been clearly formed in your mind, using your projective hand (right if right-handed) mix the herbs as the images from your mind transfer down your arm, through your hand and empower the herbs.
4.Take your stone/crystal and place it in your projective hand.
5.Visualize your need or goal.
6.Once it has been clearly formed in your mind, pour your need into the stone/crystal.
7.Thank the stone/crystal spirit for its help in your quest.
8.Place the herbs and the stone/crystal in the pouch or tie in cloth.

A Clear Quartz Crystal may be substituted for any stone.

Using Sachets

To activate: Hold the sachet in your hand, squeezing gently to release its fragrance. Carry it with you at all times or place in the appropriate spot.

Three months to the date it was made, bury the herbs and continue to use your sachet to hold your crystal/stone.

Lust Potion

Want someone to lust after you as much as you lust after them? Then try this simple, yet effective, lust portion.

Supplies: Bottle of red wine, pot, coriander, two glasses

Spell: Pour a bottle of red wine into a pot - heat wine, but do not boil. Add a tablespoon of powdered coriander seeds to the warm wine and stir. Let it all warm together for 3 minutes.

Pour wine into the 2 glasses and enjoy!

A Happy Home Trinket

Want to instill some peace, love and happiness into your home? Then give this a whirl:

Hang three pieces of John The Conqueror in the three places where the family gathers the most. This is usually the kitchen, living room and dining room.

The herb does not have to be in plain sight - but it does have to hang from something.

Replace every three months. Bury the used herbs.

To Remove Negativity

My buddy Jo gave this to me years ago from her defunct site spellbox.com and it works like a charm.

4. Sprinkle herbs over the paper as you imagine the two of you together.
5. Fold the paper towards you.

Preparation (herb): Boil one ounce of Ladies Slipper Root in a pint of spring water for 10 minutes. Strain and bottle the infused water.

Preparation (flower essence): Place 12 drops of Ladies Slipper Root in a pint of spring water and bottle the infused water.

Dose: Drink a wineglass when the headaches come on - and/or you can use this as a sleep-inducer for a good night's rest.

Courthouse Charm

Dealing with legal issues? Need a bit of a push for things to go your way? Then try this good luck court charm!

Need: 1 Bloodstone, Spring Water, Orris Root, White Cloth, Yellow or Orange Thread

1. Boil the spring water and pour over 2 tablespoons of orris root.
2. Strain the liquid.
3. Soak the bloodstone in the infused liquid overnight.
4. Wrap the bloodstone in a white cloth while it's still wet.
5. Tie the sachet closed with some yellow or orange thread.
6. Carry the sachet/charm in your left pocket if right-handed or right pocket if left-handed while you're in the courtroom.
